New PIN system for unaccompanied import freight

Truck at the port

Portsmouth International Port will soon be introducing a new PIN system for releasing all unaccompanied import freight. This new system will go live on Tuesday 2 April.

This a later date than originally planned, however we want all of our customers and hauliers to be fully up to speed with new procedures. This will help ensure the system is launched smoothly.

From this date all drivers who collect unaccompanied freight from Portsmouth International Port will receive a unique 6 digit PIN for each freight item, from the shipping line that imported it.

This number will need to be presented to the team at the freight out-gate when the item leaves the port.

This new procedure will speed up the process of collecting freight items, and all our customers should see a vastly improved streamlined service that remains secure.
