It boasts a wealth of experience and expertise in the shipping industry and has identified changes in the modal shift of goods.
To cater for the needs of its Lo-Lo customers upgrades are required and a multi-use site will protect the longevity of the business as it continues to diversify.
Short-sea container services will become popular routes as trade adjusts to changes in cargo shipping trends.
Making space for the future is critical and while some can be achieved by consolidating facilities on site, additional land is required.
Within 5 years our focus is:
Respond to future shift of containerisation.
Expand facilities on-site to cater for a range of cargo.
Support employment land developments in the city’s Local Plan that make provision for commercial opportunities near to Portico.
An agile port able to support shortsea services.
Upgrade berths and water depths.
